As an amenity your property manager has partnered with Getwireless.net to provide high speed Internet in your apartment at no cost to you.â€¨ Please review this site for more information on how to get connectedâ€¨and what upgrade options are available to you. Your apartment is prewired with Ethernet and you will not need a modem or technician visit to activate your Internet. There should be one Ethernet port in your apartment. It will be located on a wall plate somewhere in your apartment. It should be easy to locate and are typically a colored jack. Ethernet jacks are slightly larger then phone jacks and will easily fit a Cat5 Ethernet cable. When you move in you will beâ€¨ provided with a username and password from your apartment managerâ€¨ which you will need when connecting to device to your Ethernet port. You willâ€¨ need a wireless router to connect multiple devices or access thisâ€¨ service wirelessly. Wireless routers are available at any major â€¨electronics retailer (BestBuy, Target, Amazon, etc) or may beâ€¨purchased from Getwireless.net for a nominal fee. Purchasing from â€¨Getwireless.net includes the additional feature of a professionalâ€¨ installation of the router (router installs will be available to schedule starting August 24). We would recommend that you put yourâ€¨ wireless router in your living room and register it on the network soâ€¨ that if you have a smart TV you can plug it in to your router. Youâ€¨ will not be able to plug a smart TV directly into an Ethernet portâ€¨ without a router as you will have no way to register the TV on the â€¨network. Our standard Internet package is provided free of charge in yourâ€¨ apartment. This provides Internet access at speeds up to 7Mbps. Faster speeds are available for a small monthly fee.
